The promotional Fleshlight-looking Dune popcorn bucket is the marketing boner of the year.

The public was clear eyed as to what this popcorn bucket appeared to be the moment it arrived. How could the marketing team that created it not see? This was not the same as the Barbie Pink Corvette Convertible Popcorn Bucket you could buy for your kids.

Soon after its release there was an SNL skit about teenagers spending the night with the bucket. But my meme is funnier. I thought why couldn’t the bored sarcastic (and aging) cast of Clerks not work at an adult bookstore? This is the perfect opportunity to meld dirty sex jokes with pop culture references. The blow up doll is from the film Lars and the Real Girl and the pervert is Caveh Zahedi from a documentary film only San Francisco natives would be familiar with, I Am a Sex Addict. At the bottom is the villain the Baron Harkonnen from the David Lynch version of Dune. His character is a sex creep as well so this works. Also funny to put a bunch of big black dildos in the meme and and get away with it.

This did OK with about 160 likes on the /dunememes subreddit. It didn’t seem too controversial.
