There’s big news in the air that has everyone talking and you have a hot take. The best way to get people to know your brilliant insight or joke is with a strong image and a few lines of text. You’re going to need to get this out fast because when the next news cycle comes no one is going to care anymore. You post it on a subreddit that cares about your subject, and you get thousands of likes and hundreds of comments -- maybe even more comments if people start to get into arguments that devolve into tangents.

But keep in mind you may get a lot of juice from these memes in the moment, but looking at them months or a year later you are going to have memes that have not withstood the test of time. People might either say “oh I remember that vaguely,” or “wait what is that even about?”

Let’s go through some of my memes that conquered the moment but are so past their expiration date you’re going to get sick if you eat them.

HEARD’S TURDS

Remember the Johnny Depp / Amber Heard trial? Of course you do. And what do you remember best? That Heard shit the bed. My humor is somewhat scatological, and I have this turd transparency that I like to work into as many memes as possible. Amber Heard plays Mera in the Aquaman movies so if Aquaman was swimming around close to Mera’s sleeping pad he would find himself surrounded by floating turds and hilarity would ensue.

This meme was well received, and one person even reposted it in a subreddit dedicated to the subject of bashing Amber Heard. I personally don’t have anything against Heard and, actually, Mera is my favorite live action little mermaid. Sounds to me like she and Johnny Depp were both shitshow abusive – so why should I have strong feelings about that?  I am, however, not above making a poop joke at her expense.
