So after being banned from a few lefty subreddits I wondered to myself. Have I been turned to the right or has what it means to be “right” or “left” changed?

I don’t really feel like litigating all the things the government did wrong in the shut down and the vaccine roll out. Others on YouTube do it much better than I. But the idea of how you must submit to oppression or you are a grandma killer is laughable and extreme to me. I got the vaccine because I was excited to end COVID. It didn’t end but later I got the booster because my job required it. Then I got COVID for the first time. Later a second booster was optional so I passed on it. I think this makes me a moderate but to some I am a grandma killer.

I’m going to have to do a whole column about Ukraine and the frequent attack comments I have to field when I propose the idea that peace talks are better than extended war. Peace is always the left position. But peace is not the position of Biden and the Democrats. If your only argument against that statement is World War II then you are ignorant of the last 80 years of US foreign policy.

Thirdly, the Twitter files were real. There is a treasure trove of evidence to prove this, chronicled by Matt Taibbi, a left wing journalist. The mainstream press attacked and smeared him because his story challenged the censorship they support. Sorry his source was Elon Musk. Musk did a good thing with this but overall he is a fair weather friend of free speech. Don’t put your free speech hopes in a billionaire.

But being anti-censorship and anti-war is now called right wing by the Democrats (or at least it was when I first posted this in early 2023, Israel changes that).

I rarely re-use the same meme template but I hope I think of something that inspires me to reuse this one. I’m surprised no one stole it already, maybe too many panels. Also, you have to expand the meme to be able to read the text - this is a weakness — the text should be readable without doing that. Because I enjoy writing I have tendency to do “wall of text” memes with too many words. So I posted this is in a few lefty Subreddits and the response was mixed positive and negative. It got a few hundred likes and dozens of comments. Someone said the ideas were “yiksey” except for wanting universal healthcare. And that was on a communist Subreddit! Many who say they are commies are really pretty conventional Democrats. And I got the usual people arguing with me about Ukraine. Others assumed I am an anti-vaxxer. The negative responses proved the point of the meme. But I’m glad some understood my point and could relate. When the Democrat party has turned authoritarian, I am like a lady who doth protest too much she be a lefty.
